Trentino Alto Adige is a mountainous region covered by vast forests. It is a region in northern Italy that is a very popular, year-round tourist destination: in winter people come to the mountains to ski, whereas in summer it is the glacial lakes and wide open valleys that attracts tourists. The Dolomites is a range of mountains with 18 peaks higher than 3,000 m that have vertical walls and sheer cliffs – said to be one of the world’s most beautiful mountainous landscapes, it was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites in 2009. The Provinces in Trentino Alto Adige are: South Tyrol and Trentinoe.
