Archaeology and art are intrinsically visual subjects. And sometimes a single image or two does not do the topic justice. One or two photographs of the Berlin Christmas Garden would not convey the magical and festive nature of the various light installations in Berlin’s historic botanical garden. The common theme in this series of articles then, from sculptures found along Hadrian’s Wall to the use of Neoclassical themes in the tombs of Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, is the number of photographs we use to convey the story.
